Today's Look-Oversized Knits & Camo Skinnies

Hey dolls! Today's post is about how to transition those comfy oversized knit sweaters to a more of an evening look! It sure is getting chilly out and with El Nino "on it's way" (so they say..) nothing is more cozy then a chunky knit sweater. However, what's a girl to do when she's got a date with her boo? ACCESSORIZE! Simply throw on some sexy heels and a great statement jacket and you're ready for a night-out, while still keeping warm.

For this post, I show you two different ways styles to rock an oversized knit. For the first more "urban" look, I paired it with an extra long beanie (My boyfriend's) and some high-top sneaks (my fav) You can even wear it with some cute ankle booties if sneaks aint yo steez. I'm loving this black cable knit sweater with the sexy see-through detail.

2nd look is much more classy meets edgy. I chose to keep the grey camouflage skinnies because they are such a great neutral (remember camo is a neutral! Kinda like leopard;) but still add a pop of subtle pattern. I also accentuated the ankle fit of the pants with some sky-high cage heels. The moto jacket is great mid-length for the longer knit sweater, and adds a great mix of texture with the leather (Faux of course) *Side note- This is the jacket from my previous "faux fur" post. The collar is removable! We love two-in-one jackets!!

Last but not least, the best part about this look is..it was on CLEARANCE! (yes, music to my ears) I purchased both sweater and pants for less then $40 each from Express!! ( their black friday sale is amazing)

Remember, your wardrobe is not as "boring" as you may think it is. Just don't be afraid to mix and match!

Today's Look- Leather Joggers & High-top Sneakers

Today's look is all about being cute and comfortable! As EVERYONE knows by now, I love faux leather and these leather joggers that I picked up from Forever21 are super cozy and comfy!  I love these pants!! and I'm particularly obsessed with their versatility. Because of the light-weight, stretchy material they are perfect for looking chic while running errands or bopping around town.. BUT at night..  you can really glam them up with some sexy heels and they instantly go from casual to classy.  In my wardrobe it's all about mixing and matching. I try to find pieces when I shop that I can easily mix with different textures or patterns and that can be easily transformed to an evening look.

Random tee's are another MUST in my wardrobe because they really do go with just about anything. They're another great item of clothing where the options are endless. Pair them with; blazers, pencil skirts, trousers, A-line skirts and different patterns etc. I like this one from Express (that I got on clearance) because it has a little sassy statement, "Out of your League." ;)

When it comes to fall shoe-wear, boots are most definitely a given, but why not opt for a more comfortable and sporty look, with a pair of sneaks?  I have really been feeling these high-top sneakers I got from Justfab.com. They have a quilted pattern detail and zip up on the side which is great when you need to quickly run out the door. This is usually the case for me, since I'm late to everywhere! (No time wasted tying these babies.) Overall I think this would the perfect look for the mom-on-the-go that is busy chasing little ones but still wants to show her great sense of effortless style ;)

Today's Look-Faux Fur Obsession

It's FINALLY getting cold outside and what better way to bundle up, then with a little fur? (faux, of course) Whether it's a shaggy coat or just a little fuzzy trim, this "look at me" style will have you feeling like J-lo. Not to mention, it's super cozy. I'm currently obsessed with the fur/leather combo because it gives a little glamour to your edgy biker chic look. For this causal look, I paired this jacket (that I found at Forever21 for under $40!) with a simple boyfriend jean (these have been on repeat for a minute now) and peak-a-boo booties. The collar on this jacket is also removable so it's like getting two for the price of one! *Winning!*

A jacket like this is also great for one of those "I don't want to make an effort" days..Throw it over a tee or sweater, and it instantly becomes one of the chicest ways to stay warm this season.  Don't be afraid of bold statement pieces like these, embrace them! You can pull them off. Opt to stand out and even rock a jacket like this over a cocktail dress for that upcoming holiday party:)

Loving this off-the-shoulder top I got from Express on Black Friday for under $20!

Today's Look- High Waist Trousers

Hi loves! Today's post is about one of my current obsessions.. high-waist trousers! I can't get enough of this chic look! I just love how flattering they are (especially for us shorties) the high waist definitely adds length to your legs, while the flare is flattering for those of us who are more generous in the hip department. I also enjoy how you can dress this look up or down. I opted to wear a cute suede crop top in this look to show a sexier side, but if you're going for a more conservative look, mix it up with a tucked-in flowy top and cute belt! *examples below* I especially enjoy this look for a date night or an event. (I recently wore them to wedding, which is perfect for those cooler months!)

The Plaid Fad- 10 Ways to Wear the 90's Trend

'Tis the season to wear PLAID! The 90's "grunge" is back people, and here are some tips on how to mix it up and incorporate this fall trend into your wardrobe. I've never been a huge fan of plaid or flannel shirts, but I do LOVE pairing casual with dressy. With the ample amounts of color and design combinations, I don't really think you can make a mistake when wearing plaid. The fashionistas have transformed today's plaid into it's own category of neutrals (similar to the leopard print). It's no longer a look just for lumber jacks and Nirvana fans.

One of my favorite trends this year is tying the plaid shirt around your waist. I love it even more when it's a unique look, like around a cute sweater dress!

It's all about the layers! Wear the shirt underneath any oversized knit you have hanging in your closet!

Oh Gwen...

Make a statement with a plaid pencil skirt.

Who doesn't love fur?? Faux of course.

I'm such a sucker for a pair of leather skinnys. When paired with a plaid shirt it actually makes for a cute evening look.

This is another great way to layer the look with your favorite jacket. Make the sleeves peek-a-boo!

In love with the plaid scarf. Again, this could go great pretty much over any color. Or mix and match patterns!

This is by far my favorite way to wear this look. It proves how versatile plaid can really be.  I love the fringe mini paired with the buttoned up shirt and a bold statement necklace (Has all the essentials)

5 Step Spinach & Goat Cheese Stuffed Chicken!!

It's no secret that the kitchen and I are not the best of friends. However, I feel as though it is my duty to myself, as well as my future children, that I learn how to cook, clean, and do all that ever-so-fun domesticated shit stuff.  (Let's be real though, I'm getting a maid) I like to practice my culinary skills when I have a night off (despite the fact that my boyfriend would argue I "heat things up") and I enjoy cooking healthy meals--not only does it save me money, but it doesn't hurt the waistline;) I do however, don't mind standing over a hot stove even more, when it's a super simple recipe that doesn't require a ton of ingredients.

Last monday night I was searching through my fridge for something to make for dinner but had very little supplies. It was at that moment that I dreaded the thought of getting into my car and driving to the store. So instead, I turned to the-always-helpful app, PINTEREST. I was extremely pleased (and impressed with myself) that I did have similar ingredients to make this delicious chicken dish. *I modified the recipe I originally found, to my taste buds.

Things you will need:
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Chicken Seasoning (or salt & pepper)
  • Goat Cheese
  • 2-3 Cloves of Garlic
  • Fresh Spinach
  • Thin Sliced Chicken Breast

Step 1:
Take your chicken breast, place plastic wrap over them, and pound thin. Then season to your liking. I use McCormick's roasted garlic and herb seasoning.

 Step 2:
Next heat up 1 tbsp of olive oil and add finely chopped garlic. Next, throw in handfuls of spinach depending on my many servings of chicken. *remember it will shrink down (Don't throw out the oil)

Step 3:
Take thinly pounded chicken and layer with goat cheese and sauteed spinach. Then roll chicken as if you're making a wrap.

Step 4:
reheat the left-over olive oil and brown the sides of your chicken

Step 5:
Bake the chicken for 10-15 minutes in a 400 degree oven until juices run clear. You can check the chicken by slicing the thickest part and check for any pink.
Once your chicken is done, **LET IT SIT** for a few minutes before serving. This gives the chicken a chance to absorb all it's juices.

Bon appetit!

Today's Look- Fall Florals

Hey dolls! Today's post is going to be short and sweet. I posted this dress on my IG ages ago, but I figured it was an oldie but goodie! I'm not a huge fan of florals and I tend to gravitate toward more solid patterns, but I just love the print on this long button-up dress from H&M.

The dress is quite sheer so I am wearing a black slip-dress underneath to hide the goods, but some cute black shorts and tank would look great also! I love the versatility the length of this dress brings, because you can dress it up with knee-high boots, or even cute wedges for spring! The colors in this print make me want to sit on a bench, whilst sipping some joe, and watch the leaves fall on a crisp autumn day:)

I absolute adore these peek-a-boo ankle boots I ordered from JustFab.com. They come in brown also and put a unique twist on the average boot with buckles. *They zip up in the back which allows for easy dressing.
